PROFILE
Scipop is the creative practice of architect, artist and musician Nazar Ali Khan, engaging with sound and graphics projects.
Like architecture, my sound and music projects are created in response to spatial, temporal and societal situations. Unlike architecture, sound can reflect spatiotemporal relationships whose dynamics may be either local or non-local. These projects are further documented through graphics and text.
Nazar is an experienced practitioner and teacher of architecture. He is a partner of Plat-form Architecture Landscape LLP, based in East London. As a musician, he has played bass guitar with Inner City Unit, fronted by Hawkwind's Nik Turner, since 1985. Recent performances include the 2010 Glastonbury Festival. The Drifter project was produced with the Touching The City design research group for the London Festival of Architecture.
